I never knew that
Ok, I gave the camera back to Virginia so I can't post a picture, but the other day I learned something new. Maybe you will too. We were at the Montgomery Mall getting in the car and I saw these people throwing something at a tree. Now these weren't a couple of teenagers, this was a couple about our parents age. Jonathan and I watched them for a few minutes as they'd try and throw sticks/branches up into the tree...then Jonathan said "they're trying to get mistletoe". What? I never really thought about what mistletoe was, but I guess I thought it was a bush. Well apparently mistletoe grows in trees like a parasite. This tree was in it's dormant state so there weren't any leaves except for this huge clump of mistletoe growing. It was so funny watching these "old" people (sorry moms and dads) try and knock some down. They finally got some. Then my very refined husband told me it was easier to shoot down with a shotgun and did I want him to "get me sum"...no thanks, it's bad enough we live in Alabama (sorry Alabamians), but I didn't need my "hillbilly" husband in the mall parking lot shooting mistletoe out of a tree!
Merry Christmas

This is just a google search pitcure. The one we saw was huge. Jonathan said it was the biggest one he had ever seen. Wanna know more...http://www.howstuffworks.com/mistletoe.htm
